Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Positive Behaviour for Learning ( PBL)
At Belmore South Public School, we believe that learning happens best in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is part of everything we do – it helps students understand expectations, build positive relationships, and take responsibility for their choices. We celebrate positive behaviour and provide clear guidance, so every child feels confident, valued, and ready to learn. Together with families, we create a strong foundation for success both in the classroom and beyond.
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.
Wellbeing Hub
At Belmore South Public School we are proud to offer a dedicated Wellbeing Hub that places student success and belonging at the heart of everything we do. The Hub brings together staff, families, and a range of community and interagency partners-including a paediatrician, WHIN nurse, and counsellors- to ensure every student is supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Through strong collaboration, we provide equitable access to services and opportunities, celebrating diversity while upholding high expectations for all. The wellbeing hubreflects our commitment to excellence, equity, and care, creating a safe and supportive space where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their potential.
