Science and technology is mandatory for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
In science and technology, students explore the natural and made worlds. They learn how to apply scientific and technological skills, knowledge and understanding across a broad range of contexts.
Science provides a way of inquiring about the world around us. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real world problems. The inquiry and skill-based nature of science opens doors to ideas and discoveries.
Media club
The media club has been running at Belmore South for a number of years. The media club allows students to explore their creativity across a number of related skill sets, such as photography, graphic design, video, web design and app design.
Many media club projects integrate technical science and technology skills with skills from the creative arts, allowing students to explore the links between these curriculum areas more deeply.
Media club projects have included a short film project, an online creative zine, poster design projects and podcasts.
